The Hump Is…
Alive!

The Hump Connection is a raucous, energetic dating show for everyone!

First premiering in 2012, The Hump has been alive in New Orleans, Philadelphia, San Diego, and Chicago, finding its home in New Orleans again in 2022.

Each episode, three contestants vy for the affection of one lucky Bachelor/Bachelorette/Bachelorx through a series of The Dating Game-esque questions and obscene challenges plucked from our wheel of games.

Hosts Vanna and Artie (with help from our DJ/sidekick) guide the contestants (and the audience) through the game until one winner is chosen to go on a date!

Dates are provided by The Hump Connection (whether you like it or not), and contestants are selected through an application process.

Contestants can be any age, gender, sexual orientation, or ability, and past episodes have ranged from four genderqueer contestants all being selected to play a big, queer game of D&D; to an all-lady episode featuring a surprise French vampire; to a couple looking for a third!

FAQs

Is the show filmed?

Nope! It’s a live event that happens at a bar and, while we might take some pics for social media, it isn’t recorded. Dignity = in tact.

How much are tickets?

It’s not that serious. No tickets, no cover: no show up, grab a drink, and settle in to watch the show!

Can anyone apply?

Pretty much! You have to be 21+ since our show happens at a bar, but otherwise it’s fair game. The Hump Connection is meant to be a queer-friendly, sex-positive, inclusive show so we encourage anyone of all genders, races, sexual orientations, abilities, and ages (over 21) to apply.

What is being on the show like?

People tend to get nervous before agreeing to be on what they think is a Very Legitimate and High Budget program. I promise that’s not us. That’s not to say we don’t know what we’re doing (we’ve been at it for 10 years, my goodness), but there’s a certain low-budget, accessible campiness that we try hard to maintain. Consent is also very important to us, so you won’t be asked to do anything you don’t feel comfortable doing.

Plus, you get free drinks for being on the show!
